We didn't win... but what an amazing time we both had in Barcelona!

Carrie and Kelly, nominated for the Gatineau Elite Beauty salon of the year competition foir 2011, got to travel to Barcelona for the finals.

The girls stayed at the 5* Gran Hotel La Florida, and took part in various fun activities - such as the nifty yellow Go Car convertibles which use a sophisticated sat nav system to talk to you - which took them around the sights and views of this fabulous city, followed by lunch at the marina.

At the black tie dinner and awards evening Carrie and Kelly unfortunately didn't win the beauty salon of the year award but never mind, it's a rare distinction to be a Gatineau finalist.

Event organiser Andrew Bagley emailed all participants:

"Well what can I say; what a place and what a fantastic group of like-minded beauty professionals!  From beginning to end, we had none stop fun, you all made it such a relaxing trip, “more like a holiday than a business trip” was one colleague’s recollection! 

"You are a credit to your salons and spas, a credit to the beauty industry and EXACTLY the kind of people that my team and I adore working with." he added.
